UK defined benefit pensions: From crisis to catastrophe?

In 2005, The Pensions Regulator (TPR) set out a recovery plan for the UK’s DB pension schemes. Since the TPR set out its objective, £500 billion has been pumped into schemes – and yet the deficit has risen threefold to £900 billion. The crisis, writes Robert Gardner for Professional Pensions, has now turned into a catastrophe.
