Championing emerging managers

“The barriers to entry for emerging managers are very high and likely to get higher as this suits the incumbents, who behave like oligopolists. We identify talented managers, and help them to launch, using economies of scale to reduce the barriers.” In The Hedge Fund Journal, Shenan Dhanani and Donald Pepper, co-heads of specialist alternative asset manager Trium Capital, discuss how they ‘champion’ emerging managers.

In the interview, Melissa Hill, head of quantitative strategies, discusses Trium’s “robust quantitative infrastructure to support emerging quantitative managers” and Joe Mares, manager of the Trium ESG Emissions Impact Fund discusses how he is “targeting those that can improve their carbon footprint through organic operational improvements to their existing activity or sometimes changes in their business model.”
